Hours:  20-25 hours a week
(Consideration for additional hours during festival seasons or an exceptional amount of funerals, weddings etc. with approval from Pastor or Church Leadership.)

Benefits/Wage
This is a part-time hourly position that includes pro-rated PTO.  The hourly wage will be $18 to $20 per hour based on experience.

General Purpose:
Provide administrative support to Pastor and church vision council and organizations by conducting and organizing administrative duties and activities including receiving and handling information.

Responsible to:
Pastor and Church Vision Council

Education and Experience:

  • Typing with adequate speed and accuracy and transcribing ability.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Power Point, church software and publishing document software.
  • Proficiency in the use of office machines.
  • Organizational Skills
  • Good command of English composition and punctuation and the ability to proofread documents
  • Time Management skills

  • General Duties:
  •  
  •             Office Management:
  • Meet and greet visitors
  • Maintenance and organization of the office area
  • Ordering of office supplies and scheduling maintenance equipment
  • Routine filing of paperwork/electronic records
  • Ordering offering envelopes, maintenance supplies, communion materials, worship service materials, etc. when notified by the appropriate person

  • Facilities Management:
  • Organization and maintenance of the church calendar and scheduling of events                    
  •   (Paper calendar & electronic copy)
  • Partner with team and/or Vision Council member to schedule maintenance around the church

  • Worship Support:
  • Type, print and fold weekly service special service, wedding, funeral bulletins and newsletter
  • Arrange for usage of/schedule live stream for worship services
  • Notify musicians and audio-visual person about the program and music
  • Notify worship participants (lector, acolytes, ushers) each week
  • Create power point/mediashout for worship services
  • Check pews for litter/lost and found after worship.
  • Check and fill pencils and paper in the sanctuary

General communications and record keeping:

  • Pick up, distribution and dissemination of mail and correspondence
  • Answering and route incoming calls
  • Answering appropriate e-mails, phone messages and calls
  • Edit, type, fold and send paper communications
  • Create and send electronic communications
  • File and distribute the church vision council minutes with monthly council agenda
  • Print the monthly financial report for the council meetings along with any other necessary reports or materials as needed.
  • Keep accurate membership records (baptism, confirmation, weddings, deaths, new members, member addresses, phone numbers and e-mails)
  • Request/Send letters of transfer
  • Maintain and update all standard forms and ministry literature
  • Notify Baptismal ministry committee for Baptismal certificates, candle
