Loon Presentation at the Arboretum!

Description

Steve Maanum will be sharing his presentation on the highly acclaimed Loon Management Project that began on Big Mantrap Lake in the 1980’s.

His photographic journey will take the audience through the daily habits and behaviors of loons and how the lake’s grassroots conservation project has increased the nesting success rate.

Steve is a retired science and math teacher, a wildlife photographer / nature writer, and a loon volunteer on Mantrap Lake. His photos have appeared in newspapers and magazines and his loon images were chosen for the Loon Appreciation Week poster contest in 2019 and again in 2023.
