Good Friday Tenebrae Vespers

Description

This is one of the most beloved and memorable services of the Church. Tenebrae is Latin for 'darkness.' This service of darkness is solemn and reverent as is fitting for the day Christ died on the cross to take away the sins of the world. The liturgy is composed mostly of psalms, readings, hymns, and prayer. The service is also known for the 15 candles that are extinguished gradually throughout the service.
