Due to the weather forecast, we have decided to change the Free Park Day Pop-Up to 12pm on April 27 instead of 10am. We hope to see you there and encourage you to bring appropriate clothing and shoes for the afternoon!
WAVE YPN hosts occasional pop-up events, typically one per month. Pop-up events are causal get-togethers that include a fun, low (or no) cost activity. Meet other young individuals as we explore the Brainerd Lakes Area! No formal networking, handshaking, or business card exchanging required.
On Saturday, April 27th, meet up with the WAVE Anchor Board Members at Crow Wing State Park for FREE park day! On Free Park day, there is no entrance cost to all Minnesota state parks and recreation areas. We will plan to meet past the park office and continue to the parking lot. From there we will do an informal introduction and plan to hit the trails!
We plan on taking the Hiking Club trail, which is a 2.2 mile loop where we will explore the Old Crow Wing Town Site and Red River Oxcart Trail and hike to the scenic Chippewa Lookout for a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. The trail will be slightly hilly with rocks and mowed grass. Don't worry about pace, as we won't be on a mission to complete the trail in record time! Do plan, however, for about an hour or two for the walk and good times!
What should I bring?
