We're ready to enjoy warm summer air, connect with professionals, friendly competition and smashing clays during the Chamber's 16th Annual Sporting Clays Summer Fling hosted at Hunts Point Gun Club on Tuesday, June 20, 2023! This event is for novice and experienced shooters. A warm up station will be provided. 

Spend the outdoors enjoying team camaraderie, build friendships and good-natured competition on the 7 station competitive or novice sporting clays courses at the 300 acre hunting preserve of Hunts Point Gun Club located north-west of Nisswa.

NEW FOR 2023!

New for our 2023 Sporting Clays Summer Fling will be the addition of TWO- 7 station courses! There will be a highly COMPETITIVE COURSE for those teams who shoot regularly and a NOVICE COURSE for teams who are amateurs and are learning the sport.

Competitive Course teams can bring their own golf carts or side x sides since the course is a distance away from the main building.

NETWORK

Network with other members in a relaxed setting by signing up as an individual and being placed randomly with three other shooters or reward your employees and clients by forming a team of four. Shooting Station sponsors will provide water, snacks and entertainment along the courses.

FLURRY

Participants will enjoy the friendly team competition at the Flurry Station! Team members will have the opportunity to shoot 40 clays to earn points. Who will be our Team Flurry winner this year?

Show your Lakes Proud support by NOT shooting the Lakes Proud birds during the flurry. If you shoot the Lakes Proud bird, 5 points will be deducted from your team score! The team with the highest score wins the flurry!

1:00 -1:45 PM // Check In, Warm Up station and Split the Pot station. Additional Split the Pot attempts can be purchased at check in and the station ($10 / 5 attempts).

1:45 PM // Welcome and Safety Meeting

2:00 PM // Shotgun Start to stations and Team Flurry

4:00 PM // Food, Awards and Prizes

• Grand Prize: Mossberg Silver Reserve 2-3/4” and 3” 410GA 26” walnut over/under 
• Hunting Prize: 8 Bird guided Hunt with Lunch for Two provided by Hunts Point Gun Club
• Traveling Trophies awarded to best scores: Team, Flurry, Hen (individual female), Rooster (individual male)
• Cash Prizes awarded to 8th, 12th and 16th place teams
• Variety of Door Prizes

Individual Shooter: $225 Chamber member / $275 non member (will be placed with a team) SOLD OUT

• Warm Up Station + 8 Station Course + Flurry Station
• Choose competitive or novice course
• 1 Mulligan (allowed to re-shoot 1 station)
• 1 Split the Pot (5 attempts. Receive 1 ticket for each clay shot at the station.)
• Meal provided at the end by Hunts Point Gun Club
• Entry for door prizes

Team Shoot Package: $700 Chamber member / $750 non member (4 shooters per Team)

• Warm Up Station + 8 Station Course + Flurry Station
• Choose competitive or novice course
• 4 Mulligans (each shooter is allowed to re-shoot 1 station one time)
• Split the Pot (Each shooter will use 5 shells to try and hit 5 targets at the Split the Pot station. Each hit will grant the shooter 1 ticket for a chance to win the Split the Pot.)
• 4 Meals provided at the end by Hunts Point Gun Club
• 4 Entries for door prizes

Early Bird Registration Incentive: Register by May 31 to receive a $50 Team or $25 Individual discount.

All Shooters Need to Provide: 

• Bring your own shotgun and plan on shooting 100+ shells
  • Rent a shotgun for the day from Hunts Point Gun Club (contact John Barr shoot@huntspointgunclub.com / $25)
  • Shells can be purchased at Hunts Point Gun Club ($11 - $14.50)
• Ear protection

• Bag for carrying shells
• Dress accordingly for the weather
• Promote your team with matching logo wear, shooting vests, and etc.
