We are hosting A Blood Drive at our School!! The Red Cross is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of blood drives. In addition to the protocols we follow at every blood drive, we’re doing everything outlined in the attached precautions infographic, including: Providing hand sanitizer to every donor as they arrive. Doing temperature screening at the door and asking anyone with a temp higher than 99.5 to go home. Wiping down surfaces that have been touched by donors between every donation. Maintaining social distancing with placement of donation beds and chairs in waiting and canteen areas. Offering donors the option of giving us a cell number we can call them on when we’re ready for them, allowing people to wait in their cars
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
