Rivals for Reading Charity Golf Tournament

Sunday, May 19, 2019 (3:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Crosby-Ironton and Aitkin schools have a long, fiercely contested, but friendly rivalry.  The rivalry has a new venue – Jack’s 18 at Ruttger’s. People representing the Crosby-Ironton school district will complete against people living in the rival Aitkin School District in the Rivals For Reading Charity Nine-Hole Golf Tournament (formerly Game of Towns). The tournament will be followed by a community picnic and raffle. Last year, C-I narrowly defeated the Gobblers.

COST TO PARTICIPATE:

Golf Scramble: $100 for four-person golf team ($25 per person), includes Community Picnic and Raffle Drawing
Community Picnic and Raffle Drawing: $12 for adults;  $5 for students and AHS or C-I teachers and staff.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE READING PROGRAMS AT CUYUNA RANGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN CROSBY-IRONTON AND RIPPLESIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN AITKIN.

How do we determine a winner?
Rivals For Reading points will be awarded to winning teams and competitors. The school community with the most will be declared the Rivals For Reading Champion and receive a traveling trophy. In addition to Rivals For Reading points, competitors and teams can earn additional donations to their school’s reading fund by winning individual golf competitions like best dressed and longest drive, as well as team competitions like tug-of-war.
