Description

Success Series: Risk Management for Small Businesses
Learn about risks that can impact your business and what can be done to mitigate them.

Who Should Attend:
  • Business owners and leaders responsible for ensuring that risks to their business operations are understood and managed.

About this Session:
Did you know that 40% of businesses DO NOT Reopen Following a Significant Disaster-Scale Business Incident and Another 25% Fail Within One Year After That Disaster? If and when risk becomes reality, a well-prepared business can minimize the impact on earnings, lost time and productivity, and the negative impact on clients.  In this session a panel of local business owners and leaders will share how they manage risks and security within their companies. You’ll hear actionable, practical steps others have taken in addressing business risks.

While Deerwood Technologies provides CyberSecurity services, we’ll also be discussing other types of business risks in our seminar.

Specific examples include:
•Physical risk – location, building, facilities

Redundant power, fire/burglary protection, production redundancies (hot standby)
•Human risk– embezzlement, theft, fraud, illness, injury, succession,

Key employees, separation of duties, audit trails, processes/procedures
•Strategic risk –Intellectual property, financial leverage, lack of diversification

Supply chain, clients and products, insider & external espionage
•Technology risk –power, IT assets, cybersecurity, communications

Compliance, data breach, security awareness, business continuity
